I completely agree with the letter from Robert Persad, (Your Views, July 2) calling for Theresa Villiers to pay back her second home allowance.
When my son was born in 2005 I was sent a form for tax credits by the Inland Revenue.
I received tax credits for about 18 months.
Then, when I filled in another form with the same details I was told I should never have been receiving tax credits and that I had to pay back a sum of over £600 there and then.
Nobody at Inland Revenue said, ‘There, there, our mistake’, and I knew it was the right and proper thing to find the money to pay back even though it would be a struggle.
It’s time there was more equality between the common person and the MR.
