A 30-year-old man who was killed in a road crash on Monday has been named by police.

Mohammed Kadem, from The Hyde, died at the scene in High Street, Edgware, just before 5pm.

The victim collided with a Renault Clio outside the Lidl supermarket and just metres away from Edgware Infant School.

A post mortem held at Barnet Mortuary yesterday gave the cause of death as a severe head injury. An inquest was opened and adjourned at Hornsey Coroner's Court today.

Speaking in the Times-series papers this week, Susan Morris, 52, whose grandson attends Edgware Infant School, said: “There’s been lots of accidents on that corner, it’s been dangerous for years.”

The 20-year-old driver of the Renault was arrested at the scene and taken to a north London police station. He is bailed to return in mid-January pending further inquiries.
