Armed police have arrested two men after a machete was found in Sudbury Hill.
Two men were allegedly spotted with a machete near Sudbury Hill train station just before 3.20pm today (December 3).
National Police Air Service also attended and a search was carried out in Greenford Road where a machete was found.
At 3.33pm, two men were arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon.
They were taken into police custody where they currently remain.
A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “Officers received multiple reports of two men in possession of a machete in Sudbury Hill earlier today (Tuesday, 3 December).
“The men were seen near Sudbury Hill train station on Greenford Road at 15:18hrs.
“Officers including armed response officers were deployed to the area and assisted by NPAS.
“Two men were arrested at 15:33hrs on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon.
“They remain in custody.
“Officers remain in the area and have recovered a machete.”
