Staff and doctors at Hendon Hospital have won a national award for “outstanding care”.
They took the ‘Laing Buisson’ award as one of the country’s “best private hospitals” which had the lowest levels of infections and unplanned transfers of care on record.
The hospital in Sunny Gardens Road, formerly known as Hendon Garden Hospital, part of the Circle Health Group, was praised for what judges said was the best “patient access and affordability”.
The award also looked at how staff were supported in their careers. One of the largest employers in Hendon, the hospital launched the independent sector’s first university programme in 2023 with 30 professional courses from nursing to administration and finance.
The Circle Health Group was previously named in the Laing Bussion awards in 2023 as the best in the independent sector for the knee surgery and above the national average for hip surgery.
