Edgware stood silent as crowds paid tribute to those who lost their lives in two world wars and later conflicts around the globe.
Hundreds gathered at the Remembrance Sunday service at the Edgware War Memorial on November 10.
After a parade through Edgware, the service was conducted by the Rev Preb Francis Adu-Boachie, the Rector of Edgware Parish.
The service was attended by representatives of the Mayors of Barnet and Harrow, and veterans, former Gurkhas, army cadets, scouts, AJEX Jewish ex servicemen and women took part in the parade.
Wreaths were laid at the memorial by dignitaries, and prayers were said by Jewish, Hindu and Buddhist faith leaders as well as Christian prayers.
Remembrance Sunday preceded Remembrance Day on November 11, marking the anniversary of the First World War’s official armistice on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918.
