A motorcyclist has died in a second fatal crash in the last two days within the same area in Edmonton.

Meridan Way has been closed off since this afternoon (October 28) at 2.10pm after reports of a crash.

Emergency services were called to the scene, and despite the efforts of emergency services, a motorcyclist died at the scene.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: "The road may be closed for some time to allow forensic examination of the scene to take place and for collision investigators to conduct their investigation."

The road remains closed off between Pickett's Lock Lane and Morson Road, with queuing traffic.

A detour operation is in place, with the W8 bus route being diverted from the area.

Just yesterday (October 27) police were called at 4.35am to the A406 to reports with another crash, this time involving a car and a man.

The incident occurred on the westbound carriageway of the A-road, near to the junction with Meridian Way.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene at 5.13am.
