Parents with money worries will be able to collect school uniforms and supplies for free from a community centre.

Mum Isa Perez will be hosting the inaugural giveaway at Northwold Community Centre in Clapton tomorrow (August 23).

She decided to found ‘Fresh Kits for Kids’ after struggling with the high costs of school clothing for her own son.

Supplies will be provided free of charge thanks to nearly £10,000 raised through GoFundMe, as well as contributions from Pickni Uniforms and Forbes Family Group.

Sal’s Shoes has also donated £4,000 worth of school shoes, and various brands have provided items for goodie bags.

Friday’s event, which runs from 12pm until 3pm, will also include catering, face painting and bouncy castles.

Isa said: "I understand the profound impact that financial hardship can have on children and their families.

“As someone who has experienced these challenges firsthand, I am deeply committed to helping others in similar situations.

“This event is a way to give back to the community and ensure that every child starts the school year with the confidence they deserve".

Career experts will also be on hand throughout the day to offer employment advice to parents, in the hope the event can be a comprehensive resource for the community.
