A Scandinavian sushi chain is set to open in a former food hall.

Founded in Copenhagen 30 years ago, Sticks’n’Sushi has since expanded to the UK and Germany.

The brainchild of half-Danish, half-Japanese brothers Jens and Kim Rahbek, and Thor Andersen, the interior design of each restaurant takes influences from both Japanese and Danish design.

And the chain’s 14th UK restaurant will now open in Upper Street at the end of September.

The new venue will be found at the site of a former food hall, and will offer sushi and sticks from the grill.

Menu favourites include the black cod house roll – miso-marinated black cod with vegetable chips & pickled red onion.

But even if fish is not your thing, Sticks’n’Sushi has plenty of other options to choose from.

Ibérico Secreto (miso-cured black Iberian pig with lemon), charred chicken wings, and Wagyu Yaki (Japanese Wagyu steak from Kyushu) all also appear on the menu.

Salads and chirashi are also available for those who would rather not eat meat.

Signature cocktails include Shiso Ha (tequila, shiso leaves, and elderflower) and Purple Rain (Japanese gin, violet liqueur, and yuzu tonic).
