Authorities are looking to verify claims that a protest is planned in Harrow.
Harrow Labour posted a tweet on X earlier today (August 5) that it had heard reports protestors were planning to demonstrate in Harrow on Wednesday (August 7).
The post did not specify a specific location or where the report came from.
It comes amidst unrest across the country following the fatal stabbing of three young girls in Southport on July 29.
Police have been injured, shop windows smashed and hotels targeted.
The Harrow Times contacted the Labour Party and Harrow Council.
Harrow Labour posted a statement on X from its group of councillors, which said: "This past week has seen a number of unacceptable protests take place across the country which have threatened the safety and stability of communities.
"We would like to thank the countless individuals who have not participated in these events, and unequivocally condemn those who have sought to bring intimidation and criminal damage to our streets.
"Harrow is proud of its diverse community, and we would like to make clear that intolerance of any description has no place in Harrow.
"While we have not seen disruption on our local streets, we are working closely with the Metropolitan Police and Harrow Council to monitor any possibility of future disruptive activity in the area."

They said those with concerns should contact the Harrow Labour officer or their ward councillor.
A spokesperson for Harrow Council said: “We are aware of social media posts and WhatsApp messages being shared which claim that a protest is being held in Harrow on Wednesday.
"We are working with the police to verify whether a protest is taking place and if there is we will prioritise the safety of Harrow’s communities in our response.”
A Met Police spokesperson added: "We have received various reports of posts online (relating to various geographical areas of London).
"Operational colleagues are aware and will assess the information."
