A man who was arrested after a teenage girl was allegedly locked in a shop will appear in court again next month.
Vaithlingam Poovendranathan, of Hurley Road, Greenford, has been charged with false imprisonment over the incident in Uxbridge Road, Hatch End last year.
Police were called to the shop at 9pm on November 9 following a report that a girl had been locked inside a shop.
Officers attended the scene and found a 14-year-old girl unharmed. She was allegedly locked in the shop for around 10 minutes.
A man was initially arrested and then bailed over the incident, but has since been charged by police.
The 59-year-old appeared at Willesden Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday (July 16), and was subsequently released on bail.
He will next appear at Harrow Crown Court on August 13 for a plea and trial preparation hearing.
