A Poundland store has temporarily closed following a rat infestation.
The Poundland Wealdstone Store, in the High Street, was closed last week after staff reported 'pest activity'.
The Harrow Times received a report from a member of the public that the store was shut down by the Food Standards Agency as they found a rat infestation in store.
Poundland said no outside agencies, such as the Food Standards Agency, were involved in the decision to close the store.
A Poundland spokesperson added: "Our colleagues at Wealdstone themselves reported some evidence of pest activity this week.
"Because we take concerns like those very seriously, we've temporarily closed the store to investigate the cause and take immediate remedial action.
"That's underway and the store will reopen as soon as that work is complete."
