A secondary school has received its fifth consecutive ‘outstanding’ Ofsted rating.
The Compton School in Summers Lane was awarded top marks by the education watchdog after an inspection in March this year.
The mixed secondary school, which is now part of academy chain the Middlesex Learning Trust, has been rated outstanding since 1992.
The most recent inspection was the first since 2018, and praised the school for ensuring that pupils achieve “exceptionally well”.
Inspectors said children are “happy…, feel safe and are kept safe”.
They added that pupils build “very respectful, working relationships with each other and with staff”, and enjoy a “calm and welcoming” atmosphere at school.
Compton was also commended for offering a wide-range of extra-curricular clubs, including cooking, photography and coding.
Inspectors added that the school is “very well led and managed”, and takes into consideration teachers’ workload and well-being.
Louise Ismail, head of school, said: “We are extremely pleased with the report.
“It captures so much of what we believe makes the school so successful and does not highlight any areas for improvement – this is highly unusual and a testament to the hard work and commitment of our whole school community.”
