A man has died after a blaze ripped through a house.

Emergency services were called shortly after 10pm on Saturday, June 1, to a house fire in Colin Park Road, Colindale.

Metropolitan Police officers, London Fire Brigade and London Ambulance Service attended.

A man was pronounced dead at the scene, Scotland Yard said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by Met officers alongside LFB colleagues.

There has been no arrest.

An LAS spokesperson said they sent resources, including an ambulance crew, paramedics in a fast response cars and an incident response officer.

“Sadly, despite the best efforts of our crews, a person was pronounced dead at the scene.

"We treated an additional person for smoke inhalation and took them to hospital.”

London Fire Brigade has said six fire engines and around 40 firefighters responded to the fire.

The ground floor of the house and an outbuilding were both completely destroyed.

Firefighters from Mill Hill, Finchley, and Stanmore has brought the blaze under control by 11.30pm.
