Dramatic pictures show the aftermath of a car fire on a motorway slip road earlier today.
Hertfordshire Police said that the blaze broke out on the clockwise slip road that merges onto the M25 at junction 23, South Mimms.
Fire services and the Highways Agency were called out to the incident at around 9am this morning (February 25).
The slip road has remained closed throughout the morning, but is currently expected to reopen before midday.
Images from motorway cameras showed at least one fire engine at the scene.
Another view of the slip road revealed the burnt-out shell of a car with a mangled bonnet.
Police said there was "no information" to suggest that anyone was hurt in the fire and that the car occupants were reported as being out of the vehicle.
