A man has died after being hit by a van on a major road earlier today.
Emergency services were called to the junction between Great North Road and Greenhill Park just after 6am this morning (December 19).
A pedestrian, a man believed to be in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene after a collision with a van.
The driver of the van stopped at the scene.
The man’s next of kin have yet to be informed about what has happened.
Both London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance attended the scene.
An incident response officer, a medic in a fast-response car, an ambulance crew and a trauma team all responded to the crash.
Road closures remain in place while specialist road traffic officers investigate the circumstances.
A detour is in operation for bus routes 34, 234 and 263.
