A charity which provides an audio newspaper service for the visually impaired is looking for volunteers.
The Borough of Barnet Talking Newspaper needs people from the local community to help out in areas of production, management and recording.
The self-funded charity, which last year celebrated its 30th anniversary, aims to provide Barnet's blind and visually impaired residents with weekly audio-recorded newpapers.
Michael Kreps, chairman of the newspaper, said: "We would particularly like to hear from people who have audio-recording skills using computerised digital technology, or who have management or secretarial experience. Volunteers to read out the news for the recordings would also be appreciated, so don't worry if you have limited experience with computers."
The audio newspaper is available on cassette or CD every Friday, giving readers access to general news and information about local entertainment.
It also informs its 250 subscribed listeners about local meetings and forums that might be of interest to them.
Anyone interested in sparing a few hours on a weekly or monthly basis, or in subscribing to the service, can contact Mt Kreps on 020 8343 4405
