Two more post offices in the Barnet borough will close today as part of the Government's cull of 2,500 branches nationwide.
Branches in Pennine Parade, Cricklewood, and Nether Street, Finchley, are the fourth and fifth to close in the borough this month.
The Childs Hill branch, in Cricklewood Lane, closed last Tuesday, followed by the East Finchley branch, in East End Road, on Thursday and the Watford Way branch, in Hendon, on Friday.
The post offices in Dollis Valley Way and Potters Road, Barnet, will close on Thursday with the final branch in High Road, North Finchley, closing on Monday.
Attempts by Barnet Council to salvage some of the services came to a standstill last week.
The council accused the Post Office of refusing to disclose financial information on branches facing closure and subsidies available to keep them open.
Council leaders said the information was vital in determining any future course of action to save them.
The impasse followed months of failed communications between the two bodies after it was announced that eight post offices in the borough would close.
