Police are appealing for witnesses after a motorist crashed into a tree and died a few days later.
On April 25, at around 1am, a grey Volkswagen was travelling northbound on Preston Road when it veered left and collided with a tree.
The 28-year-old male driver was the only person in the car.
A spokesperson for the Met said: "The airbags in the car had activated and fast acting members of the public got the driver out of the vehicle.
"Encouragingly, he was conscious, breathing and answering questions."
Emergency services including the police, London Ambulance Service and London Fire Brigade were called.
The driver was taken by LAS to hospital where his injuries were initially classified as not life threatening.
Unexpectedly, he sadly died in hospital on 29 April.
Officers are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed or has footage of the collision.
