A man was left with a broken eye socket after an unprovoked attack that may have involved a knuckleduster.
Officers were called at around 7pm on Friday, November 11, 2022.
It was reported that the victim, a 27-year-old man, and a friend had been walking on the Regent’s Row Walkpath beside the Regent's Canal.

They were walking near the play area behind Regent’s Court, in Pownall Road, when they were approached by a man unknown to them.

Police say the man launched an “unprovoked” attack on the victim, punching him to the floor.
Before leaving the scene, the man allegedly said: “Do you think you’re hard?”

The victim went to hospital for treatment to cuts to his face and a broken eye socket.
Detectives suspect the attacker may have used a knuckleduster due to the severity of the injuries.
Officers from the Central East Command Unit have conducted various enquiries and are now appealing to the public.
