A quarter of employers questioned recently are expecting to increase the number of temporary workers they employ within the next six months, as the instability of the economic market continues.

More than 100 HR managers and business owners were questioned recently by the Recruitment Employment Confederation (REC) in an attempt to gain a better understanding of how employers use agency workers, and the effect they may be having on the current recruitment climate.

84% of those questioned intend to increase their use of temps in the near future so that their business can react quickly to new opportunities or downturns in a challenging and frequently changing market.

Kevin Green, Chief Executive, Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC), says: "An increasing number of companies are using temps as a way to ride the storm. Every week, 1.3 million temporary workers are keeping business in the UK moving".
