Residents are being called on to donate blood today as part of World Blood Donor Day.
A donor session will take place between 10am and 3.30pm in Edgware Community Hospital on Burnt Oak Broadway as part of a drive to raise stocks.
World Blood Donor Day is organised by major health organisation including the World Health Organisations and is on the same day as the birthday of Karl Landsteiner, the Nobel prize winner who discovered the ABO blood group system.
The annual event is designed to highlight the role blood donors play in saving the lives and improving the health of millions around the world.
