Two men have been rushed to hospital following a crash involving four vehicles on M25 this morning (Friday, February 24).
The collision happened between junction 23 at South Mimms and junction 22 at St Albans just before 6.30am.
The westbound carriageway of the M25 has been shut, causing a 5-mile queue backed up to J25 (Waltham Cross) and delays of up to 50 minutes.
Four ambulances attended the scene, as well as a response car from Essex and Herts Air Ambulance.
One man was taken to St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, with air ambulance medics accompanying to provide critical care.
Another man was taken to Barnet Hospital.
A police spokesperson said that temporary road closures have been put in place and that motorists should avoid the area and seek an alternative route where possible.
