ANYONE who spotted a red Ford Fiesta in a table tennis club car park could hold the key to an armed robbery which took place last month.
Two men in boiler suits held up a van delivering cash to the Barnet High Street Post Office at about 11am on April 9. They pulled out a handgun and threatened the driver inside the van, ordering him to pass out bags of cash.
The men, dressed in identical greyish-blue boiler suits, wore black balaclavas and are described as between 5ft 10ins and 6ft tall.
They escaped through a gap in the fence at the back of a church in Wood Street, Barnet, which police believed they cut before the robbery.
The pair then got into a red Ford Fiesta with an X registration plate, which was later found abandoned in the car park of the Barnet Table Tennis Centre, in Barnet Lane, on April 23.
Detectives investigating the incident are keen to speak to any witnesses.
DS Mark O'Shaughnessy, of the Met's Flying Squad, who is leading the operation said: "I would appeal to anyone who may have seen these two men in their distinctive clothing around the time of this robbery.
"These men would have been in the vicinity of the church in Wood Street immediately prior to the robbery, perhaps using tools to cut a gap in the fence.
"Also, did you see the red Ford Fiesta car around the time of the robbery or on its journey to the table tennis centre? Any information you have may help us catch these two men."
