After months of hard-fought campaigns, Londoners will find out who they have elected to represent them when results are announced later today.
Returning officers could reveal the candidate chosen as the Greater London Assembly member for the Barnet and Camden constituency as early as 3pm from Alexandra Palace.
Fighting for the seat are: Clement Adebayo, Christian Peoples Alliance and Christian Party; Brian Coleman, Conservative Party; Graham Dare, Veritas; Miranda Dunn, Green Party; Nicky Gavron, The Labour Party; Dave Hoefling, Left List; Magnus Nielsen, UK Independence Party; Nick Russell, Liberal Democrats and David Stevens, English Democrats.
The much anticipated news of who will be the new London mayor will be revealed tonight from City Hall before 9pm.
Latest polls show Labour's Ken Livingstone and Boris Johnson, Conservative, practically neck-and-neck.
Lib Dem Brian Paddick, an ex-police commander, is a distant third, according to polls.
Neither of the front-runners is expected to secure the 50 per cent majority they need to become mayor, so second preference votes are likely to be decisive.
Also hoping to be crowned London's Mayor are: Richard Barnbrook, BNP; Gerard Batten, UK Independence Party; Sian Berry, Green Party; Alan Craig, Christian Choice; Lindsey German, Left List; Winston McKenzie, Independent; and Matt O'Connor, English Democrats.
Results of the Hale ward by-election were announced at Alexandra Palace this morning.

The Times Series will be following the day's events as they unfold.
