A teenage girl has been sexually assaulted while walking down an alleyway in Potters Bar.
At 7.55am on April 17 it is believed the 14-year-old girl was walking down the path between The Walk and Mutton Lane when a man approached her from behind and lifted up her skirt.
He ran off into the adjoining cricket ground after the girl screamed.
The man has been described as white, aged between 30 and 40, between 5ft 8in and 5ft 10in tall, of slim build with short dark hair. He was wearing a black puffa jacket with a white top underneath and black shoes.
Investigating officer PC Gary Bentley said: "This was very distressing for the girl and we are urging anyone who was in the area at the time who saw a man matching this description to please contact police."
Police are specifically seeking a white woman in her late 40s who was walking along the lane when the incident occurred and who is thought to regularly walk through the alley at this time.
Anyone with information about this attack should contact police on 0845 33 00 222 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111. Callers do not have to give their name and could be entitled to a cash reward.
