Crime costs each person in Barnet almost a third less each year than the London average, a study has shown.
The figures, revealed by the TaxPayers' Alliance last week, placed the borough as seventh cheapest, with the cost of crime for every man, woman and child priced at £279.
The group calculated the financial cost to victims and the criminal justice system using crime statistics from the Met police and the Home Office. It found the average for London was £400, with Westminster paying the most at £620.
The cost of crime for Barnet over the period 2006/7 was almost £93million, less than the London average, despite having the second largest population.
