I wonder where John Sullivan has been during the last decade. Suggesting as he does that the reported rise in the homeless (families or people?), is due to Barnet Council, when it has been reported so many times that the population of the Borough is expected, indeed planned to increase by between 60,000 to 90,000 residents over the next 20 years.
This on the direction of the Government and the Mayor, of which no resident or voter of Barnet has ever been consulted.
It is now largely the responsibility of the Council to meet this decision, though it is obvious it is rightly concerned at this enormous increase in population, and the increased infrastructure that will be required to cope.
All this when the borough is already bursting at the seams.
It is all very well believing "that it is a basic right for everybody to have a home", but surely the question is where, when there are far too many empty properties in many parts of the country. Almost an impossible situation.
