The Rotary Club of Golders Green would like to say a big "thank you" to the customers of Tesco supermarket at Brent Cross for their overwhelming generosity in donating over 1,000 tins of food which the club collected outside the store last month.
Shoppers were asked to add an extra tin of food to their weekly shop and hand this to members of the Rotary Club of Golders Green on their way out. All of the tins collected were then delivered to Homeless Action in Barnet which will use them in its soup kitchens to provide meals for homeless people in the borough.
David Graham president, Rotary Club of Golders Green Spending cycle When cycling to New Barnet station yesterday, I was surprised and delighted to see there are very nice cycle stands near the station entrance.
I would like to say one big thank you to all concerned. It is fantastic to see Barnet Council is so speedily going ahead with spending the £20,000 it admitted to not spending last year that it said would be carried over into this year's budget.
