The managing director of a rail firm will face disgruntled commuters in Mill Hill tomorrow evening to trash out their travel concerns.

The unprecedented move came about after Elizabeth Yareham, 36, from Hale Lane, Mill Hill, worked out the email address of First Capital Connect MD Elaine Holt and emailed complaints directly to her.

Following a series of emails, Ms Holt agreed to meet Ms Yareham and other commuters who travel into London from Mill Hill Broadway station.

Ms Yareham said: "I'm astounded that she agreed to meet us.

"I travel into London on First Capital Connect every day and it's always traumatic to say the least.

"The main issues are that there are a lot of delays and cancellations and they never put on another train when things go wrong and you're left sitting there for an hour."

Ms Holt will be joined by commuters at the meeting in Fratelli Deli Cafe on Broadway, Mill Hill, from 6pm.

Ms Yareham said: "Apparently she's a very scary lady but we've got five scary ladies so she doesn't scare me one bit."
