Clearly high-flier Nicky Gavron is sweating about getting back into City Hall, and her confidence in cuddly Ken Livingstone, our favourite newt lover, must be at a low-ebb; why else would she be squaring up to political heavy-weight Brian Coleman for the Barnet and Camden seat?
It was a real surprise to me, therefore, to see her centre stage with the flame of shame at Wembley stadium on Sunday, while so many other Londoners were making a stand for Tibet and political freedom.
Ms Gavron was standing up for the Chinese games, placing herself with the New Labour team - with Gordon Brown and Harriet Harman following close behind. Ken must have been relieved to let her take centre stage for a while, only receiving the torch at the Dome; appearing with those goons could not have improved his chances.
Voting Green for Sian Berry doesn't have to go hand in hand with Ken. I will be voting for Ms Berry first and only. It's time to prioritise social housing, green spaces and public transport.
Miranda Dunn, Green Party GLA, candidate for Barnet and Camden
