As the date of the GLA elections - May 1 - rapidly approaches, can I appeal to London Assembly Member Brian Coleman to explain through your newspaper, exactly what he has done for the voters of Barnet and Camden in the eight years he has held the post?

In Barnet we are all too aware what he's done as part of the ruling Tory administration, like close Totteridge Library. We have seen massive unsustainable regeneration schemes given the go-ahead and, due to the removal of traffic calming measures, we've suffered a dramatic rise in road deaths and injuries across Barnet's roads. He even voted against Frith Manor Primary School's windmill.

But apart from rack up more than £17,000 in taxi bills during the past four years, vote against free travel for school children, and seen swingeing cuts in London Fire Brigade budgets, including taking away the fire station cooks, what has he achieved that is positive at the GLA?

Apart from attending well-catered functions for this and that, while wearing the fabulously jewelled but unnecessary necklace from the dark days of the GLC, what has he done for us? Brian, please explain.
