Upgrades to Brent Cross and Woodside Park tube stations were last week completed ahead of schedule, according to Tube Lines.
The company, which has a 30 year contract with London Underground to maintain the Northern Line, had aimed to finish improvements to the stations by May 2008.
The modernisation of both stations includes an clearer public address system, new wall tiles and a new waiting room. The number of CCTV cameras in Brent Cross has increased to 33 and to 39 in 136-year-old Woodside Park station.
Tooraj Shadnia, project manger for the station upgrade programme, said: "Not only are they brighter and cleaner but passenger information and security systems are now up to 21st century standards.
"Getting the stations finished earlier than scheduled is a bonus and was achieved through very careful planning by the teams who then working tirelessly to those plans."
The improvements were responsible for a number of weekend closures over the last year, which should now end.
