Fundraising concert
The Bull Theatre, High Street, Barnet, Saturday, 7pm
The idea for this concert came after Stefan Dabeesing, then 14, started limping while doing work experience at the Mill Hill Music Complex recording and rehearsal studios, Bunns Lane, Mill Hill, in June 2006.
He developed cancer in his knee, and had to undergo chemotherapy for much of the following year.
As he got back on the road to recovery, those at Mill Hill Music Complex started working on a concert to raise money for the Macmillan Cancer Appeal and the Teenage Cancer Trust.
It will be headlined by High Barnet's Lee Thompson - saxophone player and songwriter for English ska band Madness, who had 17 top ten hits - and guitarist Chris Spedding, who has played with Katie Melua, Bryan Ferry and The Sharks, and is best known for his 1975 hit Motorbikin.
They will be joined by Mill Hill-based rock band The False Dots, as well as up and coming Barnet bands Primary School Hero, Fiend Fatale and Wired.
Tickets cost £12 (concessions £10) and are available by calling 020 8906 9991.
