A secondary school shared a special date with the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee as it celebrated 85 years of educating students.
Students and staff at East Barnet School planted a tree and erected a plaque as part of a joint permanent reminder of Her Majesty as well as the school’s anniversary.
It was part of the Queen’s Green Canopy Initiative, which involves the planting of ancient trees across the UK as part of the Jubilee festivities.
A summer fayre will later take place on June 25, which will involve live music, street food and many stalls.
For the anniversary there will also be a time capsule buried and a commemorative wall mural.
