A house on one of the most expensive streets in the world has been largely destroyed in a fire.
Around 40 firefighters were called to a property on The Bishops Avenue between Hampstead Heath and East Finchley at 3.45am today (June 6).
The London Fore Brigade says the roof, first floor, and ground floor of the detached house have been destroyed.
The fire, which is under investigation, was brought under control by 6am but crews remained into the morning,
Station commander Rob Hazzard says the property is not believed to be in use at this time and there have been no reports of any injuries.
Six fire engines attended including from Finchley, West Hampstead, Hornsey and Kentish Town
The area has been cordoned off by emergency services and the cause of the fire is being investigated.
Mr Hazzard said: "The property is believed to be disused and empty at the time of the fire, so fortunately there were no reports of any injuries.
"Firefighters were faced with a significant fire on arrival which involved the whole of this large building.
"Crews worked hard to tackle the blaze and bring it under control."
The house is situated in The Bishops Avenue which has been given the nickname of 'Billionaires' Row'.
Properties sell for millions and millions of pounds and the street is thought to be one of the most expensive to buy in on the globe, although it has been reported in the past that many of the homes are left empty during large parts of the year.
