Motorists will have to pay if they want to park in a Mill Hill car park for more than two hours from Monday.
A notice from the London Borough of Barnet in this week’s edition of the Barnet Times has detailed plans to introduce the charges in Daws Lane car park “to effectively manage” it.
Parking will be free of charge for up to two hours but from 8am to 6.30pm, Monday to Saturday, the following charges will apply: £2 for up to three hours; £3 for up to four hours; £6 for over four hours.
The notice states the order will come into operation on Monday and drivers will be able to pay via the council’s telephone payment system, via credit/debit card pay and display machine, at Paypoint outlets or through the use of council parking vouchers.
Meanwhile, a number of streets in the borough are set to be temporarily closed for roadworks, starting next week.
Sunny Gardens Road NW4, between Nos. 107 and 127, is set to be shut for five days from Monday to allow a new water connection to be installed.
Access will be permitted for residents only, but other drivers should use Sunningfields Crescent, Sunningfield Road, Nursery Walk and vice versa.
Partingdale Lane NW7 is also due to be closed to vehicles from Monday, this time for an expected 12-day period to enable the reconfiguration of pipework and the installation of a new water metre.
The alternative route for drivers will be via Partingdale Lane, The Ridgeway, Bray Way, Inglis Way, Frith Lane and vice versa.
Wentworth Road NW11, at its junction with Portsdown Avenue, is also due to be closed on Monday, but only for that day while a water valve is inspected.
Motorists are advised to use Highcroft Gardens, Templars Avenue, St Andrews Road and vice versa instead.
Another water valve inspection is due to take place in Leeside Crescent NW11, temporarily closing it as its junction with Princes Park Avenue, on Thursday, August 5.
The alternative route will be via Princes Park Avenue, Bridge Lane, Cranbourne Gardens and Oakfields Road.
Mays Lane EN5 is set to be closed for five days from Monday, August 9 between its junctions with Woodfall Avenue and Eton Avenue for development works.
The possible diversions will be via Woodfall Avenue, Vale Drive, Milton Avenue and Mays Lane; Elton Avenue, Vale Drive, Milton Avenue and Mays Lane; Woodfall Avenue, Vale Drive and Mays Lane; Elton Avenue, Vale Drive and Mays Lane.
