People living in area of Barnet face having to pay to park their vehicle under proposals to extend a residents’ parking scheme.
A notice from the London Borough of Barnet in this week’s edition of the Barnet Borough Times outlines the plans to extend the Church End Controlled Parking Zone.
The move is being made to deter “all-day commuter-type parking” from taking place in certain lengths of Etchingham Park Road, Park Avenue, Park Crescent and Park View Road.
The council states this would improve parking opportunities for residents and reducing traffic congestion in the area.
If the scheme goes ahead, the CPZ will be extended into Etchingham Park Road (between Holdenhurst Avenue and Squires Avenue) Park Avenue, Park Crescent and Park View Road.
The effect of the order would be to introduce parking places for the use of residents and their visitors between 2pm and 3pm Monday to Friday, as long as the cars are displaying a valid permit or visitor voucher.
The cost of the permit is banded depending on the level of C02 emissions and engine size, currently ranging in an annual cost from £15 to £182.25 for the first vehicle.
Furthermore, it is also planned to introduce parking places for the use of residents and businesses on Etchingham Park Road and Park View Road, again subject to a valid permit being displayed.
However, the proposal would also allow people living at certain addresses to obtain a permit to allow them to park without limitation during the controlled hours. These are:
Etchingham Park Road – Odd Nos. 43 to 157; Even Nos. 112 to 156, including Nos. 1 to 4 Parkside Court.
Park Crescent – Odd Nos. 1 to 31 and Even Nos. 2 to 32.
Park View Road – No. 1 to No. 18, including No. 1 to 4 Park View Court.
Park Avenue – No. 1 to N0. 26, including No 1. to 4 Avenue Court.
