An award-winning comedian brings the story of his grandfather’s journey from Nazi-occupied Czechoslovakia to the stage next month.
Joe Bor recounts the deeply moving story of the friendship between his grandfather and his grandfather’s best friend. The show will be performed at artsdepot on Saturday, March 14.
Through letters, pictures, audio clips and more, Joe Bor explores the legacy his grandfather left behind. World-renowned town planner Walter Bor and famous comedy actor Herbert Lom fled Nazi-occupied Czechoslovakia together and journeyed to the UK. The show unpacks their efforts and determination to succeed in their new lives, and how the relationship between the two men changed over the years.
Funny and engaging, Joe Bor has created a moving and emotional tribute to his grandfather and his friend. The Story of Walter and Herbert made the Top Three Storytellers at The Fringe list, was a Guardian Recommended show, and made The I’s Top 50 jokes of the Fringe list.
