A synagogue is launching its activities for a special day of social action.
The Edgware Masorti Synagogue in Stream Lane, Edgware, is readying its congregation to hold special events in conjunction with Mitzvah Day, an annual Jewish-led day of social action.
This year, the synagogue is holding an Interfaith Tea Party Celebration of Age, partnering with the Islamic Centre and The Good Neighbour Churches Scheme for Mill Hill and Burnt Oak, which will give senior members of the community the chance to be hosted by young people.
The event is also being supported by the Interfaith Week Youth Trust.
The synagogue will also be joining other local organisations for a blood donation session for the Joely Bear Appeal, taking place at Edgware Blood Donor Centre on November 19.
In 2014, the team from the Barnet Borough Times visited the synagogue to take part in its "collect-athon" as part of Mitzvah Day.
