Couples will soon be able to get married at Hendon town hall as Barnet’s register office is set to move to a new central location.
The register office is used to record births, deaths, marriages and civil partnerships in the borough.
Currently residing in Burnt Oak, Edgware, the office is set to move to the Grade II listed building in the Burroughs on Monday (February 6).
Deputy council leader Cllr Daniel Thomas: “We hope residents will enjoy using the new register office for many years to come.
“As well as providing an improved service in the prestigious surroundings of the town hall, savings will be made for the council by consolidating services into one building.”
Options to develop the current site of the Register Office in Burnt Oak Edgware are currently being explored.
All births in England and Wales must be registered within 42 days of the child being born – parents of babies born in Barnet, at home or at Barnet General Hospital, can use the town hall.
