A pair of iconic 80s movie cars will be driving into Edgware as the shopping centre launches free parking competition.

The Broadwalk centre will host a replica of the famous Batmobile from the 1989 film and the Ghostbusters Ecto-1, from the 1984 version.

Both cars will roll into the centre for 12pm on September 17, to mark the centre’s new number plate lottery campaign.

The Number Plate Lottery, which will run from September 19 – October 16, will offer drivers who park in the centre’s car park, the chance to win free parking for a whole month.

People can enter the lottery by simply parking in the centre’s main car park (excluding the commuter parking zone) and each week, one vehicle will be picked at random.

The winners will be notified by a special voucher that will be placed on their car’s windscreen.

Angela Brooks, manager of The Broadwalk Centre, said: “We are very lucky to be able to offer our shoppers and London commuters a safe and secure car park with over 1000 spaces.

"Our Number Plate Lottery campaign is a great and fun way to highlight our parking facilities and reward our loyal customers.

“The launch event with the celebrity cars is set to provide great photo opportunities for film fans and their families, especially as both movies have had new releases this year, so we are very excited to be hosting such iconic vehicles in the centre.”
