Barnet Giving – the new local charity project raising money for local good causes – has just launched its summer fundraising campaign – Bake for Barnet. You can join the campaign by hosting your own cake sale or baking stock for other bake sales. For details and to download your fundraiser’s pack, visit www.barnetgiving.org.uk/bake

Meet Trisha– Barnet Giving’s first star baker:

Trisha Gay is a life-long Borough of Barnet resident, a committee member of Barnet Giving, and plays an active role in other local charities. In July, Trisha became our first Bake for Barnet fundraiser, raising over £100 selling home-made cakes to friends, neighbours and colleagues. She also helped out on our fundraising cake stall at the recent East Barnet Festival. On why she is baking for Barnet, Trisha said, “I’m very passionate about making Barnet a better place to live. I’ve always been a keen baker, and Bake for Barnet is a great way to enjoy my hobby and help local people in need. I hope many local people join the campaign. Everyone can bake. I love making lemon drizzle cake, but I find that Rice Krispie cakes are very popular with any age group.”

You can join Trisha to help people in need near you by baking for Barnet.
