Diane David raises some interesting conundrums regarding the recently introduced CPZ in Sunny Gardens Road and Sunningfields Road, What has CPZ achieved but irritation?' Letters, April 12.
Before the CPZ, there was the constant daily noise of car horns and alarms; emergency services had huge problems attending to emergencies - not to mention refuse collection and recycling trucks.
As to residents having driveways, these were often selfishly blocked by visitors and delivery trucks and therefore locals were denied access to their own properties. I applaud Barnet Council for introducing a safer more aesthetically pleasing environment through the CPZ.
