In reference to the article concerning the four men slapped Asbos for street drinking (Street drinkers are given tougher Asbos', April 5), I feel the Government has let us down and is dealing with these situations in the entirely wrong way.

How an Asbo can possibly provide any form of long-term solution to their drink problems is beyond me, and I feel that it's nothing short of an irresponsible way of the community wiping it's hands clear of these delinquents.

Of course I appreciate the nuisance and disruption that may be caused, however the label of a social deviant will do nothing for the individual or the perception with a prospective employer.
