A woman is still waiting to have her foster children returned to her a year after the murder of her daughter's boyfriend.
Colin Browne, 38, was shot and stabbed last April by a gang known as K9 on the Grange Estate, East Finchley. He was the boyfriend of 19-year-old Lisa Mouland, who lives on the estate with her mother, Maria Mouland.
After the murder, Ms Mouland's two foster children were removed from her care for safety reasons and she was told the children would not be returned to her while she was living on the estate. She has not yet been rehoused by her housing association.
Ms Mouland said: "The kids were taken from me because of the situation here, what with the murder. I miss them terribly and just want to move. Obviously it is very hard for Lisa too because he Mr Browne was her boyfriend. She needs to leave it all behind now."
A spokeswoman for housing association Family Mosaic said that moving the Mouland family was a high priority but no properties matching their needs had become available in the past year.
She said: "Unfortunately, no three or four bedroom properties have become available in the areas Miss Mouland has told us she wants to live in since her case was made a priority transfer.
"However, we would be very happy to discuss widening the area she would consider living in as this will increase the chances of a suitable property becoming available much sooner."
A spokeswoman for Barnet Council said: "The council will always place the wellbeing of children in our care first while providing appropriate support to carers.
"The council and carers felt it was not in the best interest of the children to remain in the placement.
"We will continue to ensure the welfare of the children and assess the situation."
