Three artists are up for an international award after taking part in an exhibition at the artsdepot, in North Finchley.
Marion Davies, 58, who lives off Hampstead Way, Hampstead Garden Suburb; Sue Goldschmidt, 40, of Lyndale Avenue, Childs Hill; and Jennifer Martin, 26, of Galley Lane, Arkley, all had artworks in the 2006 Barnet Open exhibition at the artsdepot, in Nether Street, and were announced on March 25 as finalists in the Ben Uri Third International Jewish Artists of the Year Awards 2007.
Ms Martin, 26, said: "It meant a lot to be in the Barnet Open exhibition. It was one of the first pieces I've had in a competition and from that there's been a knock-on effect of other people seeing my work."
Since exhibiting in the Barnet Open, Ms Martin has had her first solo show at a gallery in Los Angeles.
Mrs Davies has a solo exhibition called Absence and Loss opening at the London Jewish Cultural Centre in Golders Green on April 23, and Mrs Goldschmidt is preparing for a group exhibition in August.
The artsdepot is inviting submissions for this year's Barnet Open exhibition. Work submitted must have been produced between June 2006 and June 2007 and the artist must be based in north London.
An artist is entitled to submit a maximum of three works and there is a handling fee of £15 per work.
The deadline is May 31 and submission forms are available from www.arts depot.co.uk, or the box office on 020 8369 5454.
