Junior footballers were given a boost after receiving cash for new team strips.

Mill Hill Village Youth FC, who are based in Burtonhole Lane, Mill Hill, received £1,000 from Linden Homes to buy the kits.

A team of under-nines unveiled the new strip during a tournament at the Madejski Stadium in Reading at the weekend.

Head coach Bryan Passade, 43, said: “They were really happy getting new kit. The new football strip looks very smart.”

Discussing last week’s tournament, he said: “We were unlucky, we had three draws and a defeat. They loved it though, absolutely loved it. There was a little bit of nerves, but it was a great experience for them.”
