A moped rider was rushed to hospital after a crash in Barnet.
The Metropolitan Police was called at 9.40am today to reports of a car in collision with a moped in Great North Road, at the junction with Greenhill Parade, Barnet.
Police believe the moped was travelling in the same direction as a silver Ford Focus, which collided with the back of the moped, forcing it into the path of oncoming traffic. A red VW Golf then crashed into the moped.
The moped rider, a man believed to be in his 30s, was taken to an east London hospital by London’s Air Ambulance for treatment to a head injury.
He remains there in a serious condition. His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
All vehicles involved stopped at the scene, and there have been no arrests.
Officers are appealing for witnesses, and are urging anyone who saw the crash, or the events leading up to it, to call 020 8991 9555.
Road closures remain in place in both directions while the scene is dealt with.
