With one month to go until the General Election, the Times Series takes a look at who is standing in Hendon.
Hendon is the second most marginal seat in London and eighth in the UK, with Matthew Offord winning for the Conservatives in 2010 with a majority of just 106.
Mr Offord will contest the seat next month against his predecessor, Labour Party candidate Andrew Dismore, a member of the London Assembly who held the seat from 1997 to 2010.
Also running are horticulturalist and activist Ben Samuel for the Green Party, biology teacher and library campaigner Alasdair Hill for the Liberal Democrats, and oral surgeon Raymond Shamash for UKIP.
The constituency covers the electoral wards of Burnt Oak, Colindale, Edgware, Hale, Hendon, Mill Hill and West Hendon.
A poll carried out by Lord Ashcroft last July showed Labour on course to win the seat, with the party holding a 15 per cent lead over the Conservatives, at 49 per cent to 34 per cent respectively.
The poll also put support for the Liberal Democrats at four per cent - a drop from 12 per cent in 2010 - UKIP at nine per cent, and the Green Party at two per cent.
