Our petition for 30 minutes of free parking across Barnet has collected 500 signatures in just three days.
The Times Series launched the campaign to urge Barnet Borough Council to introduce half an hour of free parking in high streets and car parks across the borough.
The petition is live on Barnet Council’s website and can also be signed in some shops in the borough.
Traders say shoppers no longer visit the borough's high streets on quick errands to avoid paying "extortionate" parking charges using the council's complicated pay-by-phone app.
Neighbouring boroughs of Harrow and Hertsmere all offer half an hour of free parking and the Times Series feels Barnet should have the same.
